Mother-daughter tea event collects toys during holiday

MILTON, Ga. — The National Charity League Milton Chapter hosted its inaugural mother-daughter tea event Sunday, Nov. 11.

About 200 mothers and daughters in the chapter donned their hats and party dresses to attend the event, which was held at the Falls of Autry Mill subdivision clubhouse.

As part of the event, the NCL Milton Chapter collected more than 100 toys, which are being donated to Foster Care Support Foundation for needy children approaching the holiday season. Foster Care Support Foundation, located in Roswell, is a nonprofit organization that provides free clothing, toys and infant care to thousands of Georgia’s foster children.

Hadley Masters, a 10th-grader at Milton High School, said she had never attended a tea before the NCL event and enjoyed it.

“I really liked mingling and getting to know other people,” she said.

Added Emily Nolan, also a 10th-grader at Milton High School: “NCL is fun. It helps charities and the community.”
