More trinkets lead to arrest



ALPHARETTA, Ga. – A Duluth woman was arrested Jan. 31 for allegedly trying to steal vitamin bottles and chewing gum.

Police were called the Publix grocery store on Haynes Bridge Road after a call reporting someone shoplifting.

Employees said Tchanda Mai Tumban, 57, of Duluth, was seen picking up a bottle of Men’s One a Day and Women’s One a Day vitamin bottles, each valued at $16. She then tried to leave the store without paying.

Tumban was stopped and searched and was found to also have 21 packs of various types of chewing gum. In total, she was accused of stealing goods valuing $94.17. Tumban was arrested for shoplifting.
