MILTON, Ga. – Want to see a pocket park at the corner of Deerfield Parkway and Webb Road?
Residents are asked to provide input Thursday, March 21 at 7 p.m. when the Milton Parks and Recreation Department holds an open house and information session on the proposed project at City Hall, 13000 Deerfield Parkway Suite, 107-E.
The roughly one-acre park was purchased with MARTA funding. Ideas include a veterans memorial and walking trail with outdoor exercise stations. However, nothing is set in stone, and city officials want to hear from residents to make sure these concepts meet community expectations.
“Every day we see dozens of walkers and runners on the sidewalks up and down Deerfield Parkway,” said Jim Cregge, director of parks and recreation for the city of Milton. “Additionally, this is where we hold our yearly Memorial Day ceremony and place veterans markers. So we’re trying to produce the best value we can for residents – but the only way we can do that is to hear from them.”
