MILTON, Ga. — Christmas carols and the scent of peppermint filled the air in Milton as Mayor Joe Lockwood and his wife Dawn opened up their home to all the people in the community.
On Saturday, Dec. 15, the Lockwoods opened their home to the entire city and about 400 attended.
Joe Lockwood said he felt the event was a success.
“The best part of the party was that I got to meet so many locals and actually talked to them instead of just discussing business with them down at City Hall,” he said.
Dawn said she will be more than pleased to throw the Christmas party again next year and make it a Milton tradition.
Several people strolled around the house on Dorris Road and its patio, enjoying homemade cookies.
A melancholy rendition of “Jingle Bells” put an end to the lively night.
