Man charged with shooting at people with BB gun

Alleged to take shots from apartment

ROSWELL, Ga. - A Roswell man was arrested overnight Jan. 14 for allegedly shooting at pedestrians with a BB gun from his apartment.

An officer on patrol near the Red Lobster on Holcomb Bridge Road was flagged down a nearly 7 p.m. by a man claiming he was just shot. He showed the officer a large red welt on his neck.

“He said it felt like he was hit by a rock,” said Roswell Police Spokeswoman Lisa Holland. “It didn't break the skin but left a large red welt.”

The officer called for backup and, as officers were responding to the scene the shooter continued taking shots at passersby.

“He kept on shooting as we were responding,” Holland said. “Officers could hear the popping noise of the gun.”

Police narrowed down the shooter to the Wood Creek Apartments and located the suspect apartment.

Inside, police found Oyeamon Norris, 26, of Wood Creek Court, Roswell, who was in possession of a realistic-looking BB gun pistol. A small amount of marijuana was also found in his apartment.

Norris was arrested for aggravated assault and possession of marijuana.
