MHS athletic director resigns post

MILTON – Milton High School Athletic Director Scott Walker has resigned his post as of last Friday. He will remain the school’s football coach and the graduation coach.

In an email sent to the school’s coaches on Thursday, Walker explained his reasons for leaving.

“It has been very difficult to balance the AD job and football over the last year and still find time to see my three kids,” Walker wrote.

Assistant Principal Jamie Dixon will fill the position temporarily until a replacement is found.

“We appreciate Coach Walker’s efforts and support him in his new position,” said Milton High School Principal Cliff Jones.

In an email sent to parents informing them of his decision, Walker said he would stay busy with the football program.

The next season will be planned, and he will be attending recruiting forums to help his players get scholarships.
