CUMMING, Ga. — The American Legion Post 307 is the first organization to host a meeting in the new Georgia Army National Guard Readiness Center building in Cumming on May 5.
Post 307 hopes to be able to call the Armory home for future monthly meetings.
The facility across from the Cumming Aquatic Center off Pilgrim Mill Road will be a recruiting and retention for North Georgia. The readiness center will house four companies, or about 400 soldiers of the 560th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade.
“This new Armory is a real credit to Forsyth County and the Legion is proud to be associated with the National Guard,” said John Arant, commander 9th District Department of Georgia.
