CUMMING, Ga. — Andrew Marshall has been West Forsyth’s center since he joined the team last season in his sophomore year, and he has become one of their most valued players.
Marshall has been recognized at the local, state and national levels and was named to the all-state honorable mention team, first team all-county, the Region 6-AAAAA second team and won the offensive lineman most valuable player award for sophomores at the National Underclassmen Combine. Off the field, he is active in his church’s youth group and volunteers with the Miracle League Forsyth, an organized youth baseball league for special needs and disabled children.
So when West Forsyth High School’s football coaches were asked to nominate one of their players for the Wolverine Leadership Scholarship Award, Marshall, a junior, won it, receiving all but one of the first place votes. The award is sponsored by the Van Baird Agency and is given to a rising senior that exudes top quality leadership, character and motivational skills.
