LOOK AHEAD: “The future’s so bright I gotta wear shades” should be the motto for North Fulton in 2013 says Brandon Beach

As president of the only business organization representing the entire Golden Corridor, I have the privilege to lead the team that is the catalyst for economic development, business growth and quality of life here in North Fulton.

The North Fulton Chamber is in a unique position to help bring about some great things in 2013 with our incoming Board of Directors, chaired by Brad Beisbier with First Citizens Bank. Here are just a few of the things the chamber will be working on this year that will strengthen North Fulton as an attractive place to live, work, play and stay:

Jobs, jobs, jobs. The chamber has partnered with the highly acclaimed Roswell United Methodist Church Job Networking program to provide a strong link between employers and all levels of job seekers in the community. In the months to come, the GNFCC will rally its membership base and other strong resources to expand this new alliance.

Education. The chamber has been instrumental in bringing a technical college campus to North Fulton. In 2013, we look forward to Gwinnett Technical College breaking ground on its new location on Old Milton Parkway and Ga. 400.

Economic Development. Through Progress Partners, the chamber will continue to collaborate with the six cities within our footprint to maximize opportunities for expansion and business growth in North Fulton. We have a very unique opportunity within our region, and the chamber’s economic development initiative continues to build off of those positives.

Infrastructure. Through the many North Fulton Chamber Board members and leaders who are positioned on various state agencies, North Fulton has a “seat at the table” when decisions are being made that affect the quality of life of our citizens. Transportation is just one of the many areas where our leadership has a say, and projects like the Ga. 400 expansion have begun because of this input.

Healthcare. In 2013, the chamber’s new Healthcare Initiative will seek to bring together the five hospitals in our footprint along with the 10,000 doctors and healthcare providers, and the 600-plus healthcare technology companies housed in our area. This collaboration is aimed at growing the medical resources that give North Fulton an edge in the healthcare arena.

Put your sunglasses on and join us at the North Fulton Chamber! 2013 is going to be a very good year for us all!
