King’s Ridge students help community in Alabama

Work with Christian Service Mission

ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Seventh-grade students at King’s Ridge Christian School traveled to Birmingham, Ala., Jan. 18-21 to serve the community. The students worked with Christian Service Mission (CSM) to clean two different schools.

Saturday, Jan. 19, they helped to landscape Barrett Elementary School, a school that serves students on the east side of Birmingham. Students cleaned the school by cutting down trees, clipping back tree limbs, raking and bagging many leaves. They laid down fresh pine straw and picked up trash. On Sunday, the students went to CSM’s large warehouse in Birmingham. They helped to organize the warehouse and added some landscaping as well. The students said they enjoyed their ministry to the schools.

“It was wonderful to be able to serve the ministry that serves so many others in the city of Birmingham,” said Erika Crosby, trip leader and Christian Life associate.

Christian Service Mission serves the community of Birmingham through community development with relationships and partnerships within each community. They facilitate and assist partnering organizations to bring Christ-centered change in their communities. They help to connect resources and needs to the help the communities transform.
