ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Sweet Apple Elementary School students Cameron Koporc and Lily Picquet were deeply troubled when they learned that all student victims of the deadly Moore, Okla., tornado were, like them, third-graders. Just this year, Cameron and Lily had huddled together in their own school as tornado sirens wailed of approaching danger in Roswell.
The girls decided to start their summer with a lemonade stand fundraiser to help relief efforts. With support from the Edenwilde neighborhood swim coaches, the girls set up a doughnut and lemonade stand at a morning practice and raised over $400. Cameron and Lily are thrilled with the success of their stand and want to continue to "give Moore."
