FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Keep Forsyth County Beautiful (KFCB) will host several workshops designed to educate citizens on how they can help protect local waterways through the Adopt-A-Stream program.
The Adopt-A-Stream program informs citizens on how to monitor local water quality while advising on the most effective ways to protect local water resources.
Citizens are encouraged to attend two different free workshops suitable for children in third grade and up. Upon completion of the workshops, attendees will be presented a certificate from Georgia Adopt-A-Stream that allows them to report water quality data anywhere in the state of Georgia.
The first workshop deals with biological assessment and will be held from 9 a.m. to
1 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 at Poole’s Mill Park; Saturday, June 29 at Central Park and Saturday, Nov. 5 in the Hickory Ridge neighborhood.
During the biological assessment workshop, attendees will learn how to collect, identify and count stream insects in order to assess the stream’s quality.
