ROSWELL, Ga. – Fulton Superior Court Judge Tom Campbell is running for re-election as judge, however Georgia law does not allow judges to campaign like other elected officials.
Therefore, his friends held a good old-fashioned fish fry for Campbell and his wife Martha instead. Hosted by Roswell Mayor Jere Wood and Claudia Graham at the mayor’s home, more than 100 people came for food, conversation and some non-politicking.
Campbell said he could not campaign, as such, but he could remind folks that he has served 10 years on the Fulton County Superior Court bench. He also served as the magistrate judge for the city of Mountain Park and municipal court judge at Ball Ground.
He also practiced law 39 years as a lawyer in Roswell and represented North Fulton as its representative to the Georgia General Assembly from 1989 to 2004.
“I have only had one desire since I became a lawyer in 1964,” Campbell said. “And that was to be a superior court judge. I have been fortunate to serve as a judge for 10 years, and I would appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve.”
Wood joined mayors Joe Lockwood of Milton and David Belle Isle of Alpharetta who were in attendance to offer their support for his candidacy.
“We need a man like Tom Campbell at Fulton County Superior Court,” Wood said.
