JOHNS CREEK – The Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce hosted its 2010 Holiday Luncheon Dec. 16, celebrating a year of accomplishments.
The luncheon, held at the Atlanta Athletic Club, featured a presentation by Michael Salpeter of the Northeast Spruill Oaks Library. The Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce held a book drive during the luncheon to donate books to the library in Johns Creek. Awards were also presented to Arts on the Creek festival sponsors.
And, guest speaker Kevin Butler, former University of Georgia and NFL placekicker, spoke to the audience about his football career, personal life and business.
During the luncheon, the chamber also celebrated its 2010 accomplishments, including membership and program growth.
Paul Dietrick, a local attorney and chamber board member, said membership rose from 300 to 410 business members this year. The chamber added several large regional and national companies to its membership roster, and the chamber board has grown from 15 to 20 board members.
The chamber’s weekly networking program has expanded from approximately 3,120 yearly participants to more than 4,000, and first-time visitor counts have doubled from 250 to more than 500. The Business After Hours program attendance has risen from 115 people per event to about 165 per event.
The chamber also hosted and sponsored a number of successful events this year, including the annual golf tournament, annual gala, Water for the World event and Johns Creek Arts Festival, to name a few.
