Independence HS graduates 53 during winter commencement



ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Independence High School, 86 School Drive in Alpharetta, held its graduation ceremony on Dec.18 for its most recent members of the class of 2012.

The celebration honored the 53 seniors who had fulfilled Fulton County’s graduation requirements during mini-mesters I and II.

The commencement address was given by Nathan Parker, an Independence High alumnus and doctoral candidate at Durham University in Durham, England, where he currently teaches theology.

The commencement exercises were attended by Fulton County Board of Education representatives, Victor Shandor, area superintendent for the Northwest Learning Community, and Margaret Pupillo, area executive director.
