JOHNS CREEK – Ron Green believes every child should receive a toy under the Christmas tree.

Green, CEO of Cauley Creek Waste Water Reclamation in Johns Creek, wanted to brighten children’s holiday spirits this year by purchasing more than 250 toys for the Toys for Tots program.

Green said he and five employees spent the afternoon of Dec. 13 shopping at local retailers, purchasing gifts like board games, dolls, sporting equipment and other toys. He filled two vehicles full of toys and dropped off more than 250 gifts at the Johns Creek Fire Station on Medlock Bridge Parkway Dec. 14.

Gunnery Sgt. Stephen Cahn helped Green and several Johns Creek firefighters unload the gifts for the Toys for Tots program, which is sponsored by the U.S. Marine Corps.

Cahn said Toys for Tots has received more than 900,000 requests for gifts in the metro Atlanta area this year. The program partners with local charitable organizations, which then distribute the presents to children.

The city of Johns Creek spent the last few weeks collecting gifts for Toys for Tots at City Hall and the three local fire stations. According to the city, nearly 800 gifts were collected for the program.
