ROSWELL, Ga. — Hillside Elementary School’s Parent-Teacher Association was recognized May 6 in the Outstanding Local Unit category within the North Fulton Council of PTAs. Hillside took second place this year among elementary schools with fewer than 750 students.
The Outstanding Local Unit award recognizes a PTA’s ability to accomplish its mission of cultivating involvement among parents, family and community members to impact student achievement.
“Our PTA is very much a part of the positive air we breathe in the name of educating children,” said Principal Maisha Otway. “This is such a proud moment for all of us. We thank our very engaged parent population for supporting the PTA through their memberships, as well as our school’s Husky Dash, which raised $4,500 that will go toward school technology improvements.”
The Hillside PTA also earned the Connect with Council award again representing the PTA’s active participation in training, networking and partnering with other PTAs within the North Fulton Council.
