CUMMING, Ga. – Dog lovers and their furry friends come together for the sixth annual Rucker Horse & Pet-sponsored Doggie Palooza.

Doggie Palooza allows dog and animal lovers the opportunity to browse a variety of vendors, attend police dog demonstrations, participate in contests and games and enter their dog in a parade of breeds.

The event will be held 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., Saturday Oct. 12, at Rucker Horse & Pet, 3540 Keith Bridge Road in Cumming.

One of the vendors participating in the Doggie Palooza event is Happy Dogs Play and Stay. Happy Dogs is a full service dog daycare and overnight facility that offers internet cameras, free play and grooming. The booth will offer face painting and a raffle, with the Happy Dogs mascot in attendance for photos and to join in on the fun.

“Rucker’s does so much for The Humane Society of Forsyth County and dog lovers of the area,” said Kelly Woodall, the owner of Happy Dogs. “We love being able to support them in return and attend such a fun event.”

The parade of breeds, a new addition to Doggie Palooza, will feature 15 dogs chosen to show off their best attributes. Other competitions for dogs and their attendants include look-alike and costume contests, as well as Dixie Dock Dogs’ dog pool jumping contest.

Low cost vaccinations and heartworm tests will also be available.

Sign-up for all contests begins at 11 a.m. and the full list of contests can be found at www.ruckerpet.com.
