JOHNS CREEK – The city of Johns Creek celebrated its fourth birthday last week, and the weeklong celebration culminated with the annual Founders Day Parade on State Bridge Road Dec. 4.
More than 2,000 participants smiled and waved as they made their way down State Bridge Road, while thousands gathered on the sidewalks to cheer the parade floats as they passed.
School marching bands, Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, public safety personnel, city leaders and local organizations endured cold temperatures to participate in Saturday’s parade.
Santa Claus’ arrival in a fire engine marked the end of the parade. Children lined the sidewalks and waved as the fire engine holding Santa rolled down the parade route.
