Gwinnett Tech, Lanier Tech foundations receive role model award

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Two technical college foundations have received the “Role Model Board” designation by the Technical College Foundation Association (TCFA).

The award acknowledges the work and service of the foundations’ boards of trustees.

The Gwinnett Technical College Foundation and Lanier Technical College Foundation were presented the awards on Sept. 25 during the closing banquet for the Technical College System of Georgia’s 2012 Leadership Conference.

Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle was the dinner’s keynote speaker.

TCFA President David Strickland told the 400 guests that his association’s role model award is presented annually to the state technical college foundations that demonstrate outstanding business practices and the highest level of commitment to their colleges and students.

“I congratulate the foundations of Gwinnett Technical College and Lanier Technical College as our 2012 award winners and thank them for their many outstanding achievements during the past year,” said Strickland.
