ROSWELL, Ga. – A holdup man robbed two businesses Jan. 8 at gunpoint.
The first business was the Shell gas station on Holcomb Bridge Road. Armed with a snub-nosed revolver, the man entered the store at just after 9 p.m. and demanded cash from the register.
He then had the clerk fill a bag with cartons of Newport cigarettes and fled on foot toward a Regal Nissan parked outside.
An hour later, someone matching the description of the earlier assailant entered the Waffle House on Mansell Road. He again waived the revolver and demanded cash.
Roswell Officer Lisa Holland said he only managed to get a small amount of cash from both robberies.
The man fled on foot northbound between the Waffle House and the nearby Ramada Inn. He was not found by police.
While searching the area for the armed robbery suspect, an officer found a rifle and a shotgun in cases in the wood line behind the Ramada Inn. It is not known if they are related.
