Godamunne appointed as Chief Medical Officer

ROSWELL, Ga. — North Fulton Hospital announced the appointment of Dr. Karim Godamunne as the hospital's Chief Medical Officer.

Godamunne will provide leadership, direction and planning for a wide variety of medical and related activities and serve as the liaison and resource to management on matters pertaining to medical staff activities.

“I am very excited to have the opportunity to work closely with the North Fulton Hospital medical staff to help provide quality care to our community,” Godamunne.

In addition to his role as CMO, Dr. Godamunne also will be medical director of the hospitalist physician group at North Fulton Hospital. A “hospitalist” is a physician who has expertise in caring for complicated hospitalized patients on a daily basis and for coordinating a comprehensive plan of care along with specialists that a patient may see while in the hospital. This is another way that North Fulton Hospital staff work collaboratively to keep patient care and safety as the primary goal.

Prior to his work at North Fulton Hospital, Dr. Godamunne served as Vice President of Clinical Systems Integration with Eagle Hospital Physicians, Medical Director of the hospitalist program at South Fulton Medical Center (SFMC), and Medical Director of the SFMC Advanced Primary Stroke Center. He is board-certified in internal medicine, Focus Practice Certified in Hospital Medicine, and is a Senior Fellow in Hospital Medicine (SFHM). Dr. Godamunne resides in Roswell with his wife and two children.
