Forsyth master naturalist volunteers recognized

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners recognized the efforts of the Forsyth County Master Naturalist Extension volunteers at their Jan. 16 meeting.

The master naturalist volunteers are comprised of trained volunteers committed to conserving the natural resources of the county and educating community residents about the importance of preserving natural ecosystems in forests, parks and home landscapes.

The group chose to focus their community education efforts on raising awareness of historically and economically significant trees along several miles of the Big Creek Greenway through their Interpretive Tree Project.

The group also recently received an award for the project from Keep Georgia Beautiful.
