Forsyth YMCA reps take part in Youth Assembly

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — More than 300 students in grades 9-12 gathered at the Georgia Capitol Nov. 24-26 for the 69th Youth Assembly, a unique three-day learning opportunity that brings Georgia’s state government alive.

The Youth Assembly is hosted by the Georgia Center for Civic Engagement, a program of the State YMCA of Georgia.

Programs like the Youth Assembly provide opportunities for teens to gain self-esteem and leadership skills, while experiencing government in exciting ways that builds a sense of civic responsibility that last into adulthood,” said Randell Trammell, state executive director of YMCA of Georgia.
