Forsyth County landscaper takes money, cuts out

CUMMING, Ga. — A woman gave $750 to a man for landscaping her yard and he never showed up, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff’s incident report.

A woman in the 5300 block of Davenport Manor told deputies on Feb. 15 a man came to her home offering to do yard work. The man told the victim he could landscape her yard for $450. The woman wrote him a check and it was cashed the next day, according to the victim.

The man returned to her home Feb. 16 and said he needed $300 more to buy materials to complete the job. The woman wrote the landscaper another check for $300.

The victim then went out of town and didn’t return until March 12. She said the landscaper told her the work would be completed by the time she arrived home.

When the victim arrived home, the work was not completed and she was no longer able to get in touch with the landscaper.

Deputies attempted to make contact with the landscaper but were not successful.
