Forsyth County deputy injured in early morning traffic accident



CHEROKEE CO. -- This morning (March 23) at approximately 7:30 a.m., a Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office deputy was involved in a single-car crash on Georgia Highway 369 near Julius Bridge Road in Cherokee County.

According to authorities, it appears that Deputy Sheriff Michael Cartledge was driving his patrol car, a 2008 Dodge Charger, east on Ga. Hwy. 369 when his vehicle hydroplaned and struck several trees. Deputy Sheriff Cartledge was transported by Cherokee County Fire and Rescue to North Fulton Hospital in Roswell by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. Deputy Cartledge was wearing his seatbelt.
