Forsyth County Library celebrates El Dia de Los Muertos Nov. 2

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — El Dia de Los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead, is an ancient Mexican tradition where families remember and honor those who have departed.

The Forsyth County Public Library has partnered with Literacy Forsyth to provide a special program in honor of this holiday. The event takes place at the Cumming Library, 585 Dahlonega Road in Cumming.

On Saturday, Nov. 2, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., the library will host a celebration for all ages, including seasonal crafts, treats, and storyteller Tersi Bendiberg. Ms. Bendiberg is a seasoned bilingual storyteller who has performed all over Georgia as well as throughout the United States.

She will present “Day of the Dead: A Scary Name for a Beautiful Celebration!” and will incorporate bilingual stories while also exploring the history of the holiday.

No advance registration is required to attend this special program and all ages are welcome to attend.
