JOHNS CREEK, Ga. – It may be the end of summer and the Johns Creek Farmers Market, but Saturday, Sept. 8, is a celebration of the coming of fall with the Johns Creek Fall Family Festival.
The two events at Newtown Park overlap so visitors can buy some fresh produce, homemade jellies or artisan pastas, and then let the kids play among the numerous activities at the Fall Family Festival.
The market is open from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and will share a field with the festival activities and vendors. The festival kicks off at 10 a.m. and runs to 3 p.m.
The Johns Creek Farmers Market has been drawing up to 32 vendors every Saturday since opening in June. The market offers certified organic, locally grown fruits and vegetables and other special treats for the family.
The Fall Family Festival, now in its fifth year, is bringing back some favorite activities, such as a wide array of carnival games, a Velcro wall, a giant slide, face-painting, animal demonstrations, live music, a pie-eating contest and a bungee run. Vendors include Whole Foods, schools and local businesses. Food and drinks are available.
Admission is free.
