Employee takes off in meat truck in Forsyth County

CUMMING, Ga. — Each meat truck employee was to return from work at 10 p.m.

But one man never showed, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff’s incident report.

On March 26, owner of Country Fresh Food, 5060 Wallace Drive, told deputies a contract worker was given a truck the day before to sell meat on consignment for the day.

The agreement said that all trucks and equipment would return by 10 p.m. that night.

The suspect took off with a white Ford Ranger truck with $800 of product inside.

The business owner said he checked the truck’s GPS and tracked it to Chattanooga, Tenn.

The GPS was later disabled and the suspect’s cell phone was also turned off.

The owner said he heard the man mention he had family in Knoxville, Tenn.
