CUMMING, Ga. — An extortionist is threatening to kill a man and his family if he does not pay up, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff’s incident report.

On May 22, a man in the 100 block of Audreys Way told deputies the extortionist who called himself “El Diablo” in El Salvador kept calling and threatening him.

The harasser threatened to kill the victim and his family if he did not pay $7,000.

The victim said he did not recognize the caller’s voice or the phone number with a 793 area code.

The victim said he also called authorities in El Salvador and they are investigating the case on their end.

While deputies were documenting the incident, the victim got another call from the perpetrator.

A deputy said he answered the call and spoke to suspect who called himself “El Diablo.”

The caller then began threatening the deputy and the deputy’s family if the money wasn’t paid.

The deputy ended the call, because the conversation was not progressing past threats.

Deputies said they would conduct extra patrol of the victim’s street.
