MACON, Ga. — The Georgia Federation of Democratic Women held their annual state convention in Macon, Ga., where women from across the state attended April 6.
The Democratic Women of Forsyth County chapter was selected for the second time in three years as the “Most Outstanding Chapter in Georgia.”
Other honorees from Forsyth County included Mary Chatfield and Marilyn Beverly, recipients of the Bouquet Award, which recognizes outstanding women in their chapters.
Chatfield, immediate past president of the Democratic Women of Forsyth County, said she is “thrilled about the honors bestowed upon our group, especially the Outstanding Chapter award, and it’s all due to a lot of hard work and organization by a group of wonderful women.
“I am beyond thrilled that in the three years I served as president we have now won this award twice, and I hope the residents of Forsyth County will become even more aware that there are Democrats residing here, who do a lot of great work,” Chatfield said.
The organization will continue under the new leadership of Magali Axson, who was installed as the new president.
