FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A motorcyclist died Saturday, Sept. 29 in north Forsyth County after being struck by a car making a turn off Ga. Highway 53/Dawsonville Highway.

Sidney Paul Agent, Jr., 45, of Dahlonega, was involved in the crash about 6 p.m. Sept. 29, according to Investigator Ron Tomblin of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Specialist Unit.

Agent was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta where he was pronounced dead.

Tomblin said that Agent was riding his 1978 Harley Low Rider motorcycle and was traveling westbound on Ga. Hwy. 53 when a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Jimmy Darrell Barnett, Jr., 41, of Murrayville, made a left-hand turn into the path of the motorcycle.

“Agent was unable to avoid the collision and struck the side of the Trailblazer,” Tomblin said. “He was ejected from the motorcycle and into the side of the Trailblazer.”

Tomblin said Barnett was not injured in the crash, but the passenger in the Trailblazer a 39-year-old Dahlonega woman was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville to be treated for minor injuries.

The crash was near the Forsyth-Hall County line in the area of the Dollar General Store and Chestatee Heights Road in Gainesville.

Tomblin said it does not appear that alcohol, drugs or speed were factors in the collision. Charges are pending the completion of the investigation.
