CUMMING, Ga. — As the county’s population continues to become more diverse, the Forsyth County Public Library will join libraries across the country in celebration of Children’s Day/Book Day (El día de los niños/El día de los libros).
The library will celebrate with a special bilingual program for children and families at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 30 at the Cumming Library.
Known as Día, it is a celebration every day of children, families and reading that culminates every year on April 30.
It emphasizes the importance of advocating literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
The local celebration at the Cumming Library will feature Barry Stewart Mann, who has delighted audiences for nearly three decades as a storyteller, educator and actor.
He will captivate the audience with stories told in English and in Spanish.
Children and families will also get a chance to create some fun crafts to take home.
The fun begins at 5:30 p.m. with a craft time, and Mann will be featured at 6:30 p.m.
All ages are welcome to attend and no advance registration is required.
