Couple steals purse, goods from Roswell store

ROSWELL, Ga. – A young couple are wanted by Roswell police after allegedly stealing a purse and then shoplifting from a local store.

According to Roswell Police Spokeswoman Officer Lisa Holland, the spree began at 6 p.m. at Walmart on Mansell Road. A customer was trying to use one of the automated shopping carts and had placed her purse in the front basket. There was a problem with the cart so she switched to another one, leaving her purse in the initial cart.

The couple then came into the store and saw the purse.

“They stood there for a little bit, looked at it and took it,” Holland said.

The couple then flagged down a taxi and took it to the CVS pharmacy on Ga. 9 near North Fulton Hospital 15 minutes later. There, they allegedly stole several items from the store before leaving.

Police suspect the couple lives in that area, because they did not take the taxi again, possibly walking to a nearby residence.
