CUMMING, Ga. — Creekside United Methodist Church will begin offering a new study opportunity beginning in September for women who have recently relocated to the community.
LuAnn Gilbert, who will co-lead the “Moving On After Moving In,” said the reason they wanted to hold the program was because a lot of time, people take a while to settle in to a new community.
“Soon she will be in a new town, miles away from everyone and everything she holds dear,” Gilbert said.
Moving can be a traumatic experience, families must start all over every time there is a move, and women are responsible for getting everyone taken care of in their new community.
Many times women can be sad and lonely trying to adapt to the many changes.
The program can help anyone who wants to move ahead in a healthy way after they've experienced a move.
The Christ-centered study will help women find God's purpose for them in their new community, Gilbert said.
The 13-week study will be offered at Creekside UMC, 673 Peachtree Parkway, Cumming from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. beginning Sept 10.
Women do not have to attend the church to participate.
There is no fee for the class, however there is a charge for a workbook.
Childcare is available with reservation. Call Kelly Beckley, Minister of Congregational Care at 770-888-8449 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for information.
