JOHNS CREEK, Ga. – The 14 merchants of Johns Creek Walk are teaming up with the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce Saturday, May 18, to showcase the Walk and provide fun, food and entertainment for the public.
The chamber’s Robin Buckley said there will be lots for the family to do and see at the Family Festival and Taste of the Walk. There will be offsite parking at the Johns Creek Methodist Church across the street from the Walk with a free shuttle to the event.
“We will have bouncies for the children and Home Depot will have its Kids Workshop for them to make things,” Buckley said. “The fire department will be on-hand and vendors will have tents.”
There will be live music all day, Buckley said. Other activities include a kiddie train and petting zoo.
Joe Dolgetta of Grecian Gyro said he is making plenty of souvlaki (lamb) and loukanikio (sausage) gyros with falafel and Greek salad for the vegetarians.
“We do everything fresh every day. So the people will love it,” said Dolgetta. “We are excited about having the festival. We as merchants have been trying to get this going for some time.
“We are excited about partnering with the Chamber of Commerce. They have really helped make things happen.”
The Taste of the Walk will showcase the two newest restaurants, Kitchen of Atlanta and Gino’s New York Pizza, Buckley said.
“We want to introduce them to the Johns Creek public in a great way,” Buckley said. “But all of the merchants are excited and ready.”
Participating merchants in the event include Fifth Third Bank, Francis Fong Martial Arts Academy, Grecian Gyro, The Reserve at Johns Creek and The Strand Hair Boutique, Pilates by Jessica, Keso’s Mexican Grill, fuseBox, Beauty Skin and Laser, Gino’s NY Pizza, Palomilla’s Cuban Grill, Kitchen of Atlanta, Masterpiece Mixers and The Regency Apartments.
