Cart full of meats in Alpharetta too enticing for man

ALPHARETTA, Ga. – An Atlanta man was arrested Sept. 19 caught not only attempting to steal a shopping cart full of meats but then returning again.

Employees of the Publix on Haynes Bridge Road told police they saw Christopher D. Pittman, 41, of Atlanta, come into the store and select strip steaks, packages of shrimp, pork chops and ribs and put them into a shopping cart.

He then allegedly left the store without paying for any of the items. As he was putting the meats into a backpack in the parking lot, he was confronted by employees. He left the meats and ran off.

An hour later he returned and, when confronted by police, allegedly admitted to taking the items. He was arrested for shoplifting.
