Cambridge wrestling team hits the mat

Starting off season strong

MILTON, Ga. — Cambridge High School’s varsity wrestling program showed a dual team record of 14 wins and six losses for November. The 14 wins match the win total of the entire 2012-2013 season. There are 12 duals remaining for 2013-2014 year. Last year, the Cambridge varsity wrestling program posted a winning record and was crowned state champion. Hence, the Bears’ wrestling program is on the map and the expectations this year are high.

Some of last year’s contributors will be competing again, including state champion J.R. Salemi, who is 14-0, and area champion Brandon Filosi, who is 20-0. Returning starters Chris Anderson, Eric Cizek, Brock Neilson and Kryshna Tanksley are also posting winning records and making significant contributions. New additions Will Britain and Devin Kane hold 15-0 and 20-0 records respectively. The first home dual is Dec. 11 at Cambridge High School at 5 p.m.
