Burglary victims confront suspect

burglary, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff’s incident report.

After returning home from a baseball game with his children on Aug. 31, a man in the 6000 block of Maggie Lane told deputies he realized his house had been burglarized.

His wife took the children to a neighbor’s house while they called 911.

While on the phone with the dispatcher, a white Mitsubishi sport utility vehicle pulled into the victim’s driveway.

He said he was suspicious of the driver because of the break-in and the remote location of their home — the last home on a dead-end street.

The wife was pulling back into the driveway as the suspicious SUV was backing out.

The wife got out of her car and spoke to the woman in the SUV, who seemed anxious and asked to leave. The wife told the woman to stay put until deputies could arrive.

The woman fled the driveway anyway, but hit the wife’s black Infiniti in the process.

As she sped off toward Browns Bridge Road, she also hit a neighbor’s mailbox that knocked off her passenger side mirror.

The neighbor, whose mailbox was hit, told deputies he has video surveillance of the thief’s SUV driving around the properties.

The victims say an Apple iPad and charger, about $1,000 in cash and a hunting rifle were stolen.
