Boy Scout Troop 1099 place flags at military cemetery



FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Boy Scout Troop 1099 made their annual trip to Marietta National Cemetery to place flags on military graves on May 24.

There were 1800 scouts at the cemetery to place flags on each of the 18,000 graves.

Troop 1099 met with the Robert Forsyth Chapter Sons of the American Revolution and the Piedmont Chapter Sons of the American Revolution Color Guard.

They also visited Governor John Clark's grave.

Governor Clark was a major general in the Georgia militia during the American Revolution and served as Georgia's governor from 1819 to 1823.
