Belligerent Alpharetta driver winds up in cuffs

ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Resisting arrest can lead to jail time, as one Alpharetta man found out Dec. 5.

Police arrived at the Shell gas station on Mansell Road at 9 p.m. after a call came in about someone rolling marijuana cigarettes in a Jeep parked in the lot.

When the officer arrived, he found the suspect Jeep and walked up to it. A man and woman were inside. The passenger, later identified as Kristoffer Jackson, 25, of Birch Rill Drive, Alpharetta, jumped out of the car and asked for a jump for the engine. He was asked to stay in the vehicle.

When asked for his identification, Jackson refused, saying the officer has no right. Jackson allegedly continued to be belligerent and uncooperative, eventually leading to his being placed in handcuffs. He eventually gave his name to the officer, however was unable to give his address.

Jackson was arrested for obstruction. A search of the vehicle turned up no drugs.
