Arbor Day Geo-Hunt Starts January 18th

You may have seen our earlier article in this online newspaper or perhaps you picked up a flier that talked about an upcoming Arbor Day Geo-Hunt contest. Well, guess what? It's about to start!

This contest is sponsored by the Alpharetta Natural Resources Commission and is designed for anyone and everyone to participate. Go to the City of Alpharetta website at on or after January 18th for all the details. Follow the links on the City website to find a full description of the contest and how to participate. There will also be a list of GPS coordinates for each hidden Geo-Hunt box or cache. There is no specific order or sequence to follow. You can locate all the caches in one day, one per week, or whatever works for you. Just find as many as you can before the contest ends on Monday, March 4th.

The Geo-Hunt will give you the opportunity to discover and learn about some of Alpharetta's most treasured natural resources...our trees! By participating you will also become eligible to win great prizes. Follow the instructions on the City website to log in your cache finds and become part of the prize drawing. All prizes will be awarded

by the Natural Resources Commission to winning participants at the City’s Arbor Day Celebration on March 9th from 10:00 am- noon, at Rock Mill Park, Alpharetta.

Now, it's up to you. Go out and find some treasures!
