Alpharetta girls’ basketball looking forward to season

ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Alpharetta High School’s girls’ basketball program is looking to make a run for the state championship this season. Two returning players, Kylee Smith and Lauren Brown, led the Lady Raiders to back-to-back Sweet 16 state playoff appearances the past two seasons. These two players are looking to lead Alpharetta to a state championship this season. Smith and Brown will be joined by some young help inside and coming off the bench.

The Lady Raiders, with the addition of an entirely new coaching staff and the leadership of two proven hungry seniors, expect to have a record-breaking season. They are determined to finish with a championship ring. Smith has verbally committed to Vanderbilt University and Brown has verbally committed to Elon University.

“I’m confident that all of the girls will quickly learn our system and recognize what’s expected,” said coach Mike House. “We have set high expectations for our players. Even though we lost three of our five starters from last year, this year’s team has reloaded, understands its potential, and has a great sense of urgency to get the job done by doing whatever it takes. There’s no doubt in my mind that we’re going to have a fantastic season.”
