ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Two boys from Alpharetta were selected to compete in one of the nation’s largest youth tennis tournaments.

Swiss watch manufacturer Longines is promoting their worldwide youth tennis initiative called Longines Future Tennis Aces: On the Road to Roland Garros.

Longines recently announced a partnership with the prestigious USTA Boys’ and Girls’ 12s National Spring Championships hosted by the city of Delray Beach, Fla.

The event was April 7 through April 12 and featured top competitors from Alpharetta, most notably Jose Galvez and Coy Simon.

Simon is currently the No. 1 player in the state of Georgia for his age.

The Spring Championships served as the U.S. qualifier for Longines Future Tennis Aces with the winner of the Boys 12s singles division earning a trip to Paris to play against qualifiers from 15 other nations.

Longines is the official timekeeper of the French Open and began the Future Tennis Aces program four years ago in an effort to find and develop tennis’ next superstar.

Brand ambassadors of Longines include Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi.
