Alpharetta Elementary competes in Special Olympics summer state games



ALPHARETTA, Ga.––There were smiles all around at Emory University as 15 athletes from Alpharetta Elementary competed in track and field events at the 2013 Special Olympics State Games.

Athletes ran in a variety of dashes and the softball throw.

Athletes participating were: Jacob Smith; Layke Reynolds; Harrison Elrod; Jair Franklin; Matthew MIchniewicz; Cole Lackey; Trevor Smith; Madelyn Hoyland; Gibby Durdan; Ethan Bromelow; Paloma Flores-Alvarez; Krisha Devarakonda; Muadh Kamal; Michael Astorga and Nicole Zbrzezniak.
