About 42,000 return to public schools



FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — On the first day of middle school, Will Martin, 11, said he was ready.

Will is joining the Otwell Middle School class in Cumming.

The Forsyth County School System serves about 42,000 students and is the largest employer in the county with 4,500 full-time employees and more than 1,500 substitutes.

Forsyth is home to 35 schools – 20 elementary, nine middle and six high schools — which includes iAchieve Virtual Academy, a sixth-grade through 12th-grade online school.
