Abigail (Abbey) Rose Rice, 17, of Johns Creek, GA, passed away August 8th, 2014. The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 16th, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, 11045 Parsons Road, Duluth, GA. The family will receive friends Friday, August 15th from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. and again from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home in Peachtree Corners.

Abbey was an Honor Student and played on the Varsity Volleyball team at Northview High School where she would have been a senior. Among her many interests, Abbey participated in theater and acting and had done a Verizon commercial. Abbey is survived by her parents, Tim and Roxanne Rice; twin brother, Dalton; sister, Rachel; maternal grandmother, Shirley Dowd; maternal grandfather, Richard (Sherry) Martinek and by several aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Raymond and Ethel Rice. Abbey possessed an inner light that will shine through every life she touched for eternity. We are all better people for having had Abbey in our lives.
