ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Alpharetta High School’s chapter of the National Art Honor Society hosted the third annual North Fulton County School Portfolio Day on Nov. 8, 2013, where original artwork from students at 10 Fulton County high schools was displayed.
The purpose of Portfolio Day is to provide students who wish to pursue an art education the opportunity to meet with college representatives who review portfolios, discuss their programs and answer questions about pursuing a professional career in art. Approximately 20 art schools from throughout the country attended AHS’s Portfolio Day to view artwork from more than 80 students.
Last year, students from Alpharetta High School received more than $600,000 in combined scholarships for their art. This year, four students from Alpharetta High School were offered merit scholarships from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and six students have been accepted to the Savannah College of Art and Design.
