FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A 77-year-old man from Cumming died Oct. 5 after attempting to cross the street on Canton Highway.
According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Michael Paul Carbonara was “in or near” the crosswalk when he was struck and killed by a passing car in the westbound lane. Police responded at 7:45 p.m. to the intersection of Canton Highway and Post Road.
The driver of the car, a Ford F-150 pickup truck, was identified by police as a 19-year-old from Gainesville.
The incident is still under investigation by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Specialist Unit.
