$6K stolen from grocery store in Forsyth County

CUMMING, Ga. — A burglar took all the cash drawers from a grocery store and made off with thousands of dollars, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff’s incident report.

At 9:45 a.m. March 11, an employee of Cherian’s Grocery, 2255 Callaway Court, arrived at work to open the store and could hear the alarm going off.

While she turned the alarm off, she noticed all three of the store’s cash drawers were missing from the registers. A safe was also taken from the store’s office.

The store has video surveillance but the video cables and phone lines were cut during the robbery and didn’t work.

The store’s owner told deputies $6,000 was stolen, and damage to the store and video surveillance cost $4,000.
